Packaging

Packaging and testing of each individual model is the most crucial part of our recycling process. To ensure the least amount of defective/damaged screens possible, we ask all of our clients to please test and package accordingly. Without proper packaging, defective rates can raise from 10%-50% simply due to the delicate natures of the LCD screen itself.

Testing for a working LCD and Digitizer is a must within our operation as we are looking to yield the highest results possible. This can be done by using a testing unit or a logic board to ensure that you have a working LCD and Digitizer. There are many other facets besides a working LCD and Digitizer that come into play, but the biggest thing for us is to make sure that everything is fully function. Though we do pay for screens that do not fully function, it helps to make our operation that much more efficient and helps to put your testing report into a satisfactory percentage of success.

Materials Needed

  • Double threaded Heavy Duty Card Board Box
  • Bubble wrap (you can never have enough bubble wrap)
  • Access to a Styrofoam box or Styrofoam material to create your own protective Box.
  • Heavy Duty Tape (We ask that everyone tapes all ends of the packages and puts at least 1-2 layers of tape on the entire box to ensure a safe arrival)

The packaging process begins by gathering broken screens and getting ready to put everything into bubble wrap prior to packaging. We ask that all clients roll their screens with layers of bubble.  In this scenario, you would put bubble wrap then a screen, roll it to the left until the screen is covered and place another screen on top. Repeat this until there are 10 screens total in a roll and put a single rubber band around the outside to ensure the screens are firmly wrapped and have the rubber band to ensure no movement during transit. One rubber band is all that is needed as two rubber bands could cause excessive pressure which may in turn damage the LCD.
